Hi all,
When I load windows I get a black screen with:
E79821MS.IAO 07/27/2016
Intel® Core ™ i7-6700 CPU @ 3.40GHZ, SPeed 100.00x34=3400.00 MHz
DRAM Frequency for DDR4 2133 MHz (Dual Channel)
DRAM Size is 32768 MB
USB Device total: 1KBD, 1 MICE, 0 MASS, 0 HUBs
Detected ATA/ATAPI Devices...
SATA Port1: TOshiba DT01ACA200
SATA Port3: CT240BX200SSD1
All settings were reset to default values.
Press F1 to Run Setup
Press F2 to Continue

MSI B150m Bazooka Motherboard
MSI Nvidia GTX960 4gb
Intel i7-6700 64-bit CPU
Crucial 32GB DDR4 @ 2133MHz
Cooler Power 700w 80 Plus PSU

Here is a little history. I started getting the F1/F2 screen out of nowhere and would just press F2 to continue. After about a week that screen stopped showing up and all I got was a black screen, I would have to hit restart on the PC 1 or 2 times to get it to load windows. The date and time would sometimes change.
I did a clean install of win 10, I changed the CMOS battery, I updated all drivers, I updated the boot preferences in BIOS so it boots to the SSD first (this was reset after installing windows). It was fine for a day. Now I am back to the Press F1/F2 screen every time I turn it on. The BIOS settings still have it booting to the SSD but sometimes the date/time is reset when windows loads.
CrystalDisk says my drive is in good health.
BurnInTest ran for 15 minutes with no errors.
I have no idea what to try now. Would appreciate any help!

That F1 and F2 message seems to be the typical message from BIOS when it gets corrupted somehow (CMOS battery bad?). But you said you had changed the CMOS battery so let's rule that one out. I would enter BIOS, set default or optimized defaults, and then check thoroughly every BIOS entry to see if something is changed/badly configured. Don't forget to save changes (probably F10) before exitting. Make sure the new CMOS battery is valid too and it's working properly.

did you check the voltage of the replacement cmos battery? 3 volts is good, 2.8v or less is a bad battery.
I would verify with a volt meter you didn't replace with a bad battery.

I'll reset my BIOS shortly... how do I know if something is changed/badly configured?
I can confirm it is a 3V battery.
I have just realized that this F1/F2 screen only shows when I start my PC after I have turned the power off on the wall (I do this every time I turn my computer off so my router turns off). I left it on last night and when I turned on my PC this morning windows loaded but if I turn it off for even five minutes and try to start the PC it won't load (have tried multiple times today). Any ideas based off this?

Hi, still indicative of a cmos battery issue, sometimes you purchase a battery that is new, however it has lost it's ability to hold charge, best approach is to try another battery, be sure to remove ALL power before doing anything with the computer, disconnect from the mains power and hold the start button for a few sec's to drain any residual power.
Apart from this i would look at the PSU, your computer (from what you posted appears to be 2-3 years old, the PSU is more likely 4-5 years old, and never had a good reputation, PSU's are notoriously poorly specced in quasi "gaming " rigs.

I too had the same problem and I tried all but failed and ultimately I found out the problem source.
It is defintely RAM fault. I tried some software to check RAM but they said its OK. I cleaned both my RAM hinges with eraser (pensil eraser) thorough. I put one Ram (4gb) it bootes well and without the balck screetn and without F1 and F2 option. I put another r am (4gb) computer did not boot. I was thinking of buying one piece of ram next day. Again I tried by recleaning the RAM and lo the computer booted but of course the balck screen with F1 and F2 is still there and my computer works fine well.
Conclusion: Replace ram and ur problem is solved.

From the description of the F1 F2 prompt only appearing after the power is turned off at the wall, it is almost certainly a bad CMOS 3V Battery - OR the battery holder/circuit.Have you really checked the actual voltage of the battery using a voltmeter?
Have you checked that you are installing it correctly in the battery holder, and that it does not have any bent or damaged contacts?
