The Conscientious Objector is a community-created melee weapon for all classes with the exception of the Engineer and the Spy. It is a broken down wooden sign which has been ripped from the footing. The frame of the sign sits at a slightly crooked bending, with several bloodstains and a diverseness of old nails studding its surface. A worn sheet of paper bearing an prototype of the Team Fortress 2 logo is nailed to the front of the sign. This logo tin can be replaced with another image via the Decal Tool.

This weapon functions identically to the wielder's default melee weapon.

The Conscientious Objector was contributed to the Steam Workshop.

  • The Conscientious Objector is now craftable and usable in crafting.

June 3, 2013 Patch

  • Updated the Conscientious Objector so it tin exist crafted and tin can exist used to arts and crafts other items.

October 31, 2013 Patch

  • Fixed cleaved melee animations for some all-class weapons.

Bugs

  • The Careful Objector may have the wrong decal in client view if multiple people have a Conscientious Objector on the same server.
  • An applied decal may temporarily disappear. This can usually exist fixed past restarting the game, or simply waiting it out.
  • In some cases, while inspecting a decal applied Conscientious Objector, the model may announced entirely black. Attempting to inspect once again may crash the game.

  • A conscientious objector is someone who refuses military service for ideological reasons.
